Packaging Design Studio — Based in the Netherlands, Working Worldwide
Packaging that sells.
Minimal, intentional packaging systems that elevate brands and drive product perception — on shelf, on Amazon, and everywhere your customer meets the box.
The Studio
Strategy meets
craft.
Packaging by Jordy is a design studio focused on minimal, intentional packaging systems that elevate brands and improve product perception. We combine strategy, design, and visual storytelling to create packaging that sells — from the Founders Finishing Series whiskey label to Nomad Coffee's single-origin bags and COWMIT's protein bar line.
We work with emerging and established brands worldwide — from direct-to-consumer startups to high-volume retail players — helping them stand out on the most competitive shelves on earth, whether that shelf is in a supermarket, a specialty store, or a product page.
Founded by Jordy van Herwijnen, a Netherlands-based packaging designer with 7 years of experience working with global brands.
Delivering packaging systems to shelves across North America, the UK & Europe, Australia, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.

How We Work
The process
A rigorous four-step system built around results — not just aesthetics.
Discovery & Strategy
Deep-dive into your brand, audience, market position, and competitors. We define what success looks like before opening any design tool.
Concept Development
Two to three distinct creative directions, each grounded in strategy. Every direction has a rationale and a clear business case behind it.
Design & Refinement
Production-quality packaging artwork: dielines, mockups, and complete print specifications. Two rounds of revisions are always included.
Delivery & Support
Print-ready files in all required formats, printer liaison support, supplier recommendations, and a brand standards guide for long-term consistency.
Jordy completely nailed the brief. The COWMIT packaging stands out on shelf, communicates performance, and actually gets picked up. Our customers comment on the design every day — it's become part of our brand identity.
Why Jordy
Design that
drives results.
We don't just make things look good.
We make them sell.
Conversion-First Thinking
Every creative decision is filtered through one question: will this make a customer pick it up, add it to their cart, and come back? Design ego stays at the door.
Worldwide, Detail-Obsessed
Based in the Netherlands and built for a worldwide client list — from US retail chains to UK, Australian, and Middle Eastern DTC brands. Every project is designed for the market it's actually launching into.
System Thinking
We don't design one SKU in isolation. We build scalable packaging systems that grow with your brand — from initial launch to a full product line.
Common Questions
Frequently asked
questions.
Straight answers about process, pricing, and working together remotely.
What does a packaging design studio actually do?
Full-scope packaging design covers strategy, structural dieline development, label and print design, and production-ready files for your printer or co-packer — everything needed to take a product from concept to shelf.
How much does professional packaging design cost?
Investment depends on scope — the number of SKUs, whether new structure or dielines are needed, and how much strategy work is involved. After a short discovery call, you'll receive a fixed project quote, not an hourly guess.
How long does a typical packaging design project take?
Most single-SKU projects run roughly 3 to 5 weeks from kickoff to print-ready files. Larger multi-SKU systems or full brand identity builds typically take 6 to 10 weeks, depending on revision rounds and production timelines.
Do you design for Amazon and DTC brands, or only traditional retail packaging?
Both. E-commerce and Amazon-first brands need packaging optimised for a different moment of truth — a small thumbnail, an unboxing video, a shipping box — while retail brands need to win a physical shelf in under three seconds. Both are core service lines here.
Do you only work with brands in Europe, or can you take on clients in the US, Australia, and beyond?
Packaging by Jordy is based in the Netherlands and works entirely remotely, so location has never limited the client list. Projects have shipped to shelves across 19+ countries, including the US, UK, Australia, and the Middle East, all managed over video calls and digital file delivery.
What's the difference between packaging design and brand identity?
Brand identity is the full system — logo, color palette, typography, voice, and visual rules — that defines how a company shows up everywhere. Packaging design applies that system to an actual physical product: the dieline, the material, the shelf impact. Many brands need both, which is why they're offered as connected services.
Can you handle dielines and print-ready production files, or only the visual design?
Every project includes dieline development and print-ready files in the format your printer or co-packer requires, plus liaison support if production questions come up. Design that can't be printed correctly isn't finished.
Field Notes
Insights on packaging
that actually sells.
Short, practical thinking on strategy, structure, and shelf impact.
01
The Three-Second Shelf Test
Most shoppers decide whether to pick up a product in under three seconds — often less on a crowded shelf or a scrolling feed. Packaging design is the fastest sales pitch a brand ever makes, and it either lands in that window or it doesn't.
02
Dielines Aren't an Afterthought
A beautiful label wrapped around the wrong structure still fails at the shelf. Every project should start with the dieline — the flat, folded blueprint of the object — because the shape changes what the design can say.
03
Sustainability Is a Trade-off, Not a Checkbox
Recyclable, compostable, and reduced-material packaging all involve real trade-offs in cost, durability, and print quality. The brands that get it right treat sustainability as a strategy input, not a sticker added at the end.
New breakdowns like this go up every week.
